The different types of sauces used at our Chinese restaurant in Parramatta

In Chinese cooking, there are so many different types of sauces used to create distinctive and delicious meals. At our Chinese restaurant in Parramatta, the following sauces are essential ingredients in our recipes. From our delicious seafood meals to our amazing noodle cuisines, here are some of the most popular sauces we use:

Soy Sauce
The most common of Chinese sauces, there are many different types of soy sauce that are unique to a diverse range of Asian cuisines. At yum cha in Parramatta, our chefs make sure they use regular Chinese soy sauce instead of other alternatives such as dark or seasoned soy sauce.

Oyster Sauce
Oyster sauce is a savoury sauce made with boiled oysters and seasonings such as soy sauce and garlic. Funnily enough, it doesn’t taste like oysters at all! Our restaurant venue in Parramatta find this sauce perfect for simple meals such as Chinese Broccoli in Oyster Sauce or Beef in Oyster Sauce.

Plum Sauce
This slightly sour, yet mostly sweet sauce made from plums, apricots and sometimes pineapples is perfect for fried items like fried wontons or egg rolls. It can also be used in special recipes such as Sour Plum Roasted Duck.
